Kyle Walker finally speaks out about his altercation with Nicolas Jover, the coach of Arsenal, following the loss.

Following Manchester City’s 1-0 loss at the Emirates, Kyle Walker has finally clarified why he declined to shake the hand of an Arsenal coach.

In North London, Champions City was defeated by a late deflected Gabriel Martinelli goal, and tempers flared after the final whistle.

Walker, the captain of City, and Jover had a heated exchange that was captured on camera and widely shared on social media.

When it heated up, players like Erling Haaland got involved as the two teams were returning to the tunnel.

Although Pep Guardiola acknowledged that he was aware of what had occurred, it soon became clear that Walker had declined Jover’s handshake.

The England defender, however, was said to have done so because Jover, who also worked for City under Guardiola, did the same thing the previous season and kept his hands behind his back after Arsenal lost both of their league matches.

Walker had kept quiet about the argument but has now spoken up, saying he will probably contact Jover because it was “probably a bit too much.”.

He stated: “I don’t like losing,” as reported by Metro.

When we defeated Man City a few games ago, Nico, a Man City employee, refused to shake hands.

He asked to shake my hand after we lost, and I did not take it lightly.

Just like that.

“I have been focusing on England, but I will definitely get in touch with him.

I’ll admit that it was probably a little too much.

“.

Walker thinks his response best captures the winning mentality he has developed at the Etihad Stadium.

City suffered back-to-back league losses for the first time in 2018.

“It shows the standards I have attained and what I have learned over the years, it’s a big match there and losing in the way we did and so late hurts,” he continued.

But given that we are title contenders, if it didn’t hurt, I’m probably at the wrong team.

“.

Walker missed England’s 1-0 victory over Australia in a friendly, but he is anticipated to return for Tuesday night’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Italy.
