In light of Manchester City’s opening defeat, Erling Haaland addresses the fans

Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has addressed the crowd following Saturday’s disappointing Premier League loss to Wolves.

On Saturday afternoon, Wolves shockingly defeated Manchester City 2-1 at Molineux to hand the treble winners their second straight loss and first defeat of the Premier League season.

The home team went ahead thanks to an own goal from Manchester City center-back Ruben Dias, and they reclaimed the lead in the 66th minute when Hwang Hee-chan took advantage of some appalling defending.

With a magnificent second-half free kick, Julian Alvarez had brought Pep Guardiola’s team level, but a pitiful Manchester City lost in the Midlands as a result of numerous injuries and suspensions that had a significant negative impact on the Blues.

Although Manchester City has had a strong start to the new campaign, the Sky Blues’ defensive struggles have persisted, as evidenced by the fact that they have only kept three clean sheets all year and have given up the opening goal in four of their last five games.

Erling Haaland has eight goals to lead the Premier League Golden Boot race, but the 23-year-old has only scored once in his last three games and failed to score against Wolves last weekend.

The forward, who missed the midweek match against Newcastle, started against Wolves on Saturday after scoring a hat-trick in the previous meeting between the two teams in January.

Following the disappointing loss, Haaland posted on social media to address Manchester City supporters.

“Always grateful for your support,” the Norwegian wrote on Instagram.

We’ll use what we learned from yesterday to ensure that the next time we perform better.

In their first game back, Manchester City takes on RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

This is followed by their matchup against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Last season, Haaland helped the Blues win their first UEFA Champions League by scoring five goals against the Bundesliga club for Manchester City.
