South Carolina Outgoing Transfers (4)

LB Jaron Willis – 12/7/25

Willis spent the past three seasons with the Gamecocks after beginning his college career at Ole Miss in 2022. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

During the 2025 season, Willis appeared in 11 games, totaling seven tackles and two fumble recoveries. He now looks ahead to making an impact at another program in 2026, which will mark his final season of college football.

Overall, Willis played in 22 games at South Carolina, finishing his Gamecock career with 10 total tackles and the two fumble recoveries recorded this season.

DL Zavion Hardy – 12/4/25

Hardy, listed at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, arrived in Columbia in January as a junior college transfer from East Mississippi Community College.

He played high school football at Howard in Macon, Georgia, and later at Tatnall Square Academy. During the 2025 season, Hardy saw action in just one game, logging snaps against Coastal Carolina without recording any statistics.

IOL Nick Sharpe – 12/3/25

Sharpe, a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining, announced his decision to enter the portal shortly after the regular season concluded.

“I want to thank the University of South Carolina for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play here,” Sharpe said in an X post. “After talking with my family and a lot of prayer, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal. I will be doing so as a graduate transfer with one year remaining!”

Sharpe spent one season with the Gamecocks, making five starts along the offensive line. A Gastonia native, he previously played four seasons at Wake Forest.

TE Michael Smith – 10/7/25

The sophomore tight end from Savannah, Georgia, appeared in four games this season, recording two receptions for 20 yards.

As a true freshman, Smith caught 10 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. He played in 12 of 13 games and made seven starts, earning praise as a high-upside prospect with a promising future.

Since he appeared in only four games this season, the 6-foot-6, 248-pound tight end will redshirt and enter the 2026 season as a redshirt sophomore, retaining three years of eligibility.

Additional Portal Entries

Walk-on offensive lineman Mac Walters, wide receiver Emazon Littlejohn, and placekicker Peyton Argent have also announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal.

Transfer Portal Background Information

The NCAA Transfer Portal is a private database that spans all NCAA sports at the Division I, II and III levels. It is not accessible to the general public.

Student-athletes enter the portal through their school’s compliance office by submitting written notice of their intent to transfer. Once notified, the compliance office has 48 hours to place the athlete’s name into the database, and the request cannot be denied.

After a player enters the portal, other programs are free to contact them. Athletes may withdraw their name at any time, but entering the portal means their current scholarship no longer has to be honored. If a player decides to remain at their current school after entering the portal, the institution is not required to reinstate the scholarship.
