Aliyah Boston Makes Forbes 30 Under 30 — From Gamecock Legend to WNBA Star and Investor!

Former South Carolina superstar Aliyah Boston has earned another major honor — a spot on the Forbes “30 Under 30” Sports list.

At just 23, Boston continues to stack accomplishments early in her professional career. Fresh off her third WNBA season, she was named second-team All-WNBA, adding to a résumé that already includes being the No. 1 overall draft pick, Rookie of the Year, and a second-team All-Defense selection.

Boston’s impact goes beyond the court. In July, the city of Boston celebrated “Aliyah Boston Day,” where she also revealed her role as an investor in the NWSL’s new Boston Legacy franchise.

Before dominating the WNBA, Boston was one of the most decorated players in South Carolina history. A national player of the year, 2022 national champion, two-time SEC Player of the Year, and four-time Lisa Leslie Award winner, she rewrote the Gamecocks record book. Boston graduated as the program’s all-time leader in rebounds, double-doubles, and triple-doubles, and remains the only NCAA player ever to post a triple-double in her collegiate debut.

Forbes highlighted her star power and business savvy, writing:

Aliyah Boston was the WNBA’s first overall draft pick and rookie of the year in 2023 and has been selected for the All-Star Game in each of her three pro seasons. In 2025, she led the Indiana Fever back to the playoffs even as injuries limited 30 Under 30 alum Caitlin Clark to 13 games. Off the court, Boston is an investor in NWSL expansion team Boston Legacy FC and hosts a podcast alongside WNBA legend Candace Parker.

Boston joins a growing list of WNBA talent celebrated by Forbes. Rookie Paige Bueckers also made the 2025 list, following previous honorees Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and A’ja Wilson, who earned recognition after her first MVP season.
