Allisha Gray Makes History: Atlanta Dream Star Earns First All-WNBA First Team Honor After Record-Breaking Season

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta Dream star Allisha Gray capped off a career-defining season by earning a spot on the 2025 All-WNBA First Team, the league announced Friday.

Gray becomes just the fourth player in franchise history to earn First Team honors and the first since Tiffany Hayes in 2018 — a testament to her breakout campaign and leadership for a resurgent Dream squad.

She joins an elite group that includes four-time MVP A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx standout Napheesa Collier, who were both unanimous selections. Rounding out the First Team were Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell and Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas.

The All-WNBA Second Team featured Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers, Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Nneka Ogwumike (Seattle Storm), and Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces).

Gray, 30, finished fourth in MVP voting and delivered her best statistical season to date. She averaged 18.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while posting four 25-plus-point performances in her first seven outings. Her explosive start helped her earn back-to-back Eastern Conference Player of the Month awards in May and June — the first Dream player ever to achieve the feat.

She also made history as the first guard in WNBA history to win Player of the Month three times in one season.

Gray’s 2025 campaign was filled with milestones — she became the 37th player in league history to reach 400 career three-pointers and joined the 4,000-point club. She also shattered team records for most double-digit scoring games (37) and most points in a single season (773).

Despite Atlanta’s impressive franchise-record 30-win season, their playoff run ended in a three-game series loss to the Indiana Fever.

Still, Gray’s brilliance stood out. Her consistency, leadership, and scoring prowess have solidified her as one of the WNBA’s premier guards — and a cornerstone of Atlanta’s future.

Quote: “It’s been a season of growth and gratitude,” Gray said earlier this year. “I’m proud of how far we’ve come — but I know we’re just getting started.”
