“Becky Hammon Can’t Hold Back — Drops Shocking Truth About A’ja Wilson During WNBA Finals Run!”

A’ja Wilson’s Dominance Draws High Praise as Aces Close In on Third WNBA Title

Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson continues to etch her name deeper into WNBA history — and her head coach says there’s no one like her.

After a breathtaking 90–88 victory over the Phoenix Mercury in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, the Aces now sit just one win away from clinching their third championship in four years, a run fueled almost entirely by Wilson’s relentless brilliance.

The defining moment came in the final second of Game 3. With the score tied and 0.3 seconds remaining, Wilson drained a turnaround jumper over Alyssa Thomas, sealing the win and giving Las Vegas a commanding 3–0 series lead.

Performances like this have become routine for Wilson — and her coach, Becky Hammon, didn’t mince words when describing her greatness.

“She’s at the top of the list,” Hammon said. “She’s already done things that nobody else has done… She’s sitting alone on Everest. There’s no one else there.”

The 29-year-old center’s résumé backs up every word. Wilson was recently crowned the 2025 Kia WNBA Most Valuable Player, her record-breaking fourth MVP award, and also shared her third Defensive Player of the Year honor with Minnesota’s Alanna Smith.

During the 2025 season, Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game, leading the league in scoring for the second straight year and in blocks for the fifth time. She also posted the highest efficiency rating in the league (29.2) and scored the most total points (937).

Her dominance has only intensified in the postseason. Wilson is averaging 26.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks, highlighted by a 34-point, 14-rebound explosion in Game 3 — a performance that broke her own Aces franchise record for most points in a Finals game and set a new WNBA postseason scoring record.

In doing so, she also became the only player in league history to record nine straight playoff games with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds, surpassing legends like Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, and Lisa Leslie.

Since being drafted first overall in 2018, Wilson has redefined excellence in the WNBA:

  • 4× MVP (most in WNBA history)
  • 3× Defensive Player of the Year
  • 7× All-Star
  • 2× WNBA Champion (2022, 2023)
  • Las Vegas’ all-time leading scorer

Now, as the Aces prepare for Game 4 on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET, Wilson stands on the brink of yet another milestone — leading her team to a historic third title and cementing her case as perhaps the greatest player the league has ever seen.

“She’s done things nobody else has,” Hammon reiterated. “A’ja’s legacy is already legendary — and she’s still writing it.”
