“Decision Day Looms: 5-Star Forward Kelsi Andrews Set to Reveal Her College Choice After South Carolina Visit”

Top Forward Kelsi Andrews Sets Commitment Date After Visit to South Carolina

Highly touted 2025 forward Kelsi Andrews, one of the top 20 prospects in her class, is ready to make her college decision. Andrews announced that she will reveal her commitment on Tuesday, October 7, at 6:00 p.m. ET, following a string of official visits to some of the nation’s elite programs — including South Carolina, which she visited the weekend of September 26.

Before her Columbia trip, Andrews also visited Virginia (Aug. 31), Auburn (Sept. 5), LSU (Sept. 12), and Mississippi State (Sept. 19). Details about her upcoming announcement haven’t been shared yet.

South Carolina has been in the picture for years — Dawn Staley’s staff began recruiting Andrews as early as middle school. Once ranked among the nation’s top 10 players, she saw her standing slip slightly following knee injuries in 2022 and 2023.

Now healthy, the 6-foot-4 Alabama native has regained elite form. Ranked No. 18 overall by ESPN HoopGurlz and No. 30 by Rivals/On3, Andrews brings the versatility of a modern post player — dominant inside yet skilled enough to stretch the floor with her perimeter shot.

Andrews’ high school journey has been just as dynamic. After playing for two schools in Alabama, she transferred to IMG Academy (Florida) for her final two seasons, where she showcased her rebounding and shot-blocking prowess. In IMG’s 80-78 win over Montverde at the Chipotle Nationals, Andrews posted 12 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks — outshining a Montverde team led by Gamecock freshman Agot Makeer and 2026 No. 1 prospect Saniyah Hall.

She also competed with FBC United, the powerhouse club that developed Gamecock stars Joyce Edwards, Raven Johnson, Ashlyn Watkins, and Kamilla Cardoso, along with former South Carolina standout MiLaysia Fulwiley.

Athleticism clearly runs in the family — her father played football at Alabama, while her mother starred at LSU and Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide in rebounding as a senior before becoming a coach herself.

With deep ties to SEC programs and a renewed bill of health, Andrews’ decision will be one to watch as she prepares to take the next step in her basketball journey.
