The buildup to South Carolina’s 2025 season opener against Virginia Tech came with a bit of intrigue. Head coach Shane Beamer decided not to release a traditional two-deep depth chart ahead of Sunday’s game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta—a move that mirrors what several other programs across the country have done.

Instead, when the official flip card was distributed, it included Virginia Tech’s depth chart but none for the No. 13-ranked Gamecocks. Beamer teased fans and media with a hint, saying the real answer would be visible during pregame warmups.

“Look out for who’s lining up with the first-team offense, defense, and special teams about 30 minutes before the game,” Beamer explained.

Sure enough, with half an hour to go before kickoff, observers got their first glimpse of South Carolina’s starters as they trotted out for warmups. Here’s how the Gamecocks lined up:
