LSU basketball sensation Flau’jae Johnson continues to dominate both on and off the court, securing major NIL deals that are reshaping the narrative of college athletics. Her latest win? A brand ambassador partnership with Nissan, a move her mother, Kia Brooks, proudly shared on Instagram this past Sunday.
“So I know you wonder how did Flau’jae land an NIL ambassador deal with Nissan? She mention[ed] Nissan in her ‘Came Out A Beast’ track so it was just authentic,” Brooks wrote, reflecting on how Flau’jae’s lyrics sparked the partnership. She even recalled her daughter riding in her stepfather Ameen Brooks’s Nissan years ago, adding a personal touch to the brand connection. Brooks posted a video from inside their new Nissan, with Flau’jae’s track playing in the background.
Flau’jae wasn’t just a marketing powerhouse—she was instrumental for LSU during the 2024 season, averaging 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, while shooting 46.8% from the field. Her athletic success has made her one of the most sought-after college athletes in the NIL space.
In addition to Nissan, Flau’jae has scored deals with Amazon, Puma, Powerade, and Samsung, reportedly earning 12 times more than the WNBA’s maximum salary through endorsements alone. She also signed with Unrivaled, a women’s basketball league where she holds equity, showing her commitment to pushing women’s sports forward.
In an interview released Sunday, Flau’jae opened up about her exciting partnership with Samsung, where she joined elite athletes like Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. “It’s been a great experience!” she said. “The team is great, and they’re really excited about having me. I’m really excited to see what this partnership has to offer.”
She highlighted the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Samsung’s AI-powered health wearables as her favorite tools. “The ring is probably my favorite,” she said. “But I love scheduling all of my stuff with the Ultra. It’s been amazing having the A.I. assistant.”
Flau’jae is also thriving in the music industry. Her collaboration with Powerade, “What It Takes,” became the official anthem of the 2025 March Madness tournament. She’s now in New York working on her new project, 4 My Fans Again, promising more new music is on the way.
Even in the offseason, Flau’jae Johnson isn’t slowing down. She’s training hard in Atlanta as she prepares for her senior season and is staying engaged with the WNBA, planning to attend games and support fellow athletes.
