“Gamecocks Injury Update: Jayden Sellers and Buddy Mack III Cleared for Return Ahead of Texas A&M Showdown!”

South Carolina received some encouraging news ahead of its upcoming SEC clash with No. 3 Texas A&M, as wide receiver Jayden Sellers and defensive back/special teams ace Buddy Mack III are both expected to return this weekend. The update comes from Wednesday’s SEC player availability report, marking a key boost for the Gamecocks as they try to bounce back from a rough stretch.

According to the report, only two South Carolina players are officially listed out: offensive linemen Cason Henry, who remains sidelined for the season, and Jatavius Shivers, who has been dealing with a hand injury that’s required him to wear a club.

Sellers had started to find his rhythm in the offense before missing the Ole Miss game. Head coach Shane Beamer has spoken highly of the young receiver’s instincts and energy.

“He’s just a football player,” Beamer said earlier this month. “The moment is never too big for him. He just loves competing and having fun, and when the ball’s in his hands, good things happen. It’s just very natural for him. He’s an instinctive guy.”

The SEC’s updated injury and availability system ensures that reports like this are consistent and transparent. Under the new policy, teams must submit player availability three days before kickoff, with updates provided daily until the final report — which is released 90 minutes before game time.

For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before and updated again on game day. Player designations include available, probable, doubtful, questionable, or game-time decision, mirroring the NFL-style injury report system.

The Gamecocks (3-6) will look to build momentum when they face the Aggies on Saturday at noon (ET) on ESPN. Beamer will also share his traditional Thursday night injury update during his weekly call-in show before the team departs for College Station.
