“GAMECOCKS SISTERS RIVALS: Aliyah Boston Reveals the Secret to Stopping A’ja Wilson Before Winner-Takes-All Showdown”

Aliyah Boston kept the Indiana Fever’s playoff dreams alive with a commanding performance in Game 4 of the WNBA semifinals, lifting her team to a 90-83 victory over the Las Vegas Aces and forcing a decisive Game 5. With a trip to the WNBA Finals on the line, Boston explained the defensive approach she’s using to battle Aces superstar A’ja Wilson.

Appearing on Post Moves with Candace Parker, Boston revealed that her focus is on staying step-for-step with Wilson and making her earn every basket.

“I mean, just be there like every step she takes, like I take the same step,” Boston said. “Kind of just being in her presence, contesting every shot, and then just pushing the pace and going back at her in that way.”

She added that the challenge is twofold: “I feel like that’s you’ve got to get a stop, but then at the other end, you got to guard, too.”

Boston’s effort paid off in Game 4, where she tallied 24 points and 14 rebounds, including 17 points in the second half to close out the win. Wilson still delivered 31 points on 14-of-24 shooting, but Boston’s relentless presence helped slow the Aces enough for Indiana to seize control.

The Fever stunned Las Vegas in Game 1 before dropping Games 2 and 3. To even the series, Boston turned to film study and a renewed focus on her inside positioning.

“We’ve watched a lot of film,” Boston said in her postgame press conference. “I think for me, just working on my positioning, trying to get earlier seals, that was the focus for me tonight.”

Game 5 is set for Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. ET inside Michelob ULTRA Arena. The winner will move on to face the Phoenix Mercury, who clinched their spot in the Finals by defeating the Minnesota Lynx in four games.
