South Carolina Set to Face Undefeated Texas A&M on ESPN: Can the Gamecocks Break Their Losing Streak?
The SEC has officially confirmed that South Carolina’s upcoming clash with undefeated Texas A&M will kick off at noon (Eastern) on ESPN, with live streaming available through the ESPN app. The November 15th matchup, hosted at Kyle Field, marks the Gamecocks’ first official noon game of the 2025 season.
Previously, the television details were undecided, but Saturday night’s announcement brought clarity to one of the Gamecocks’ toughest challenges of the year — the Battle for the Bonham Trophy.
A Tough Season for South Carolina
The Gamecocks (3-6, 1-6 SEC) are in desperate need of a spark. They haven’t won since September, dropping four straight games and six of their last seven. For Shane Beamer’s squad to reach the six-win bowl eligibility mark, they’d need to shock the college football world by upsetting Texas A&M, then close out with wins against Coastal Carolina and rival Clemson.
Unfortunately, the odds aren’t in their favor. According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, South Carolina has less than a 10% chance to finish the regular season bowl-eligible and just a 16.7% chance of beating the Aggies on Saturday.
Texas A&M in Championship Form
On the other side, Texas A&M (9-0, 6-0 SEC) has been a powerhouse this season, remaining unbeaten since the 2024 Las Vegas Bowl. The Aggies are considered one of the favorites for the College Football Playoff and could lock in their spot with a win over South Carolina.
A Look Back: Last Year’s Stunning Upset
When these teams met last season in Columbia, South Carolina shocked then–No. 10 Texas A&M with a commanding 44-20 victory at Williams-Brice Stadium — a win that fueled a six-game streak to end the 2024 regular season.
That game was a breakout performance for quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who exploded for 350 total yards and three touchdowns, earning National Player of the Week honors. Running back Rocket Sanders tallied over 230 yards from scrimmage and two scores, while tight end Josh Simon hauled in 132 yards and two touchdowns of his own.
The Challenge Ahead in College Station
This time, however, the odds — and location — are much tougher. The Gamecocks have never won at Kyle Field, sitting at 0-5 all-time in College Station. Texas A&M holds a commanding lead in the overall series, with South Carolina’s only two wins coming at home.
The last trip to Texas A&M ended in a 30-17 defeat, a game that wasn’t as close as the final score suggested.
What’s at Stake
For South Carolina, this matchup is about pride, progress, and proving they can compete with the SEC’s best. For Texas A&M, it’s another step toward a potential playoff berth.
Whether Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks can recapture last year’s magic or continue their slide will be answered under the Texas sun — at noon on ESPN.
