LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson Stunned After Epic Collab with $170M Rap Icon Lil Wayne — “Still Can’t Believe It!”

Flau’jae Johnson Teams Up with Lil Wayne for Viral Hit, Blending Hoops, Hip-Hop, and Star Power

LSU basketball star and rising hip-hop talent Flau’jae Johnson continues to make waves on and off the court — this time, with a high-profile collaboration that’s still turning heads.

The Tiger guard teamed up with rap legend Lil Wayne on her breakout track “Came Out A Beast,” from her debut EP Best of Both Worlds. The track, which dropped last year, features a message of grit, resilience, and rising above adversity — all delivered through Flau’jae’s powerful lyrics and a standout verse from Weezy himself.

“I still can’t believe I got me on with WAYNEEEE!” Johnson wrote in a recent Instagram post, sharing new clips from the music video. “Talk bout that. Which verse ya fav??”

The music video — which has racked up nearly 3 million views on YouTube — opens with LSU coach Kim Mulkey delivering an intense halftime speech before cutting to Flau’jae’s verses and Lil Wayne’s cameo. Mulkey even appears in the video, blending the worlds of women’s basketball and hip-hop in one compelling visual.

The collaboration came together thanks to a key assist from WNBA legend Sue Bird, who brought Flau’jae to Wayne’s attention during an ESPN appearance.

“He FaceTimed me, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this is Lil Wayne,’” Flau’jae recalled in an interview with Genius. “I’m going crazy, I’m like, ‘Y’all, my grandma here?’ He told me, ‘Yeah, I just did the verse. Let me know what you think.’”

Now entering her senior season, Flau’jae is looking to level up both her careers. She was a top scorer for LSU last season, averaging 18.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, and she dropped her second project, Flau & B, this past February.

One year after “Came Out A Beast” hit the airwaves, Johnson continues to shine as one of the most exciting dual threats in college sports — and she’s only just getting started.
