Coatesville Area Senior High School in Pennsylvania may have fewer than 1,500 students, but it is home to two of the nation’s brightest young stars—one on the football field and the other on the basketball court. Even more remarkable, they’re brothers living under the same roof.
Maxwell and Colton Hiller are not only close in age and family bond, but they also share the distinction of being future five-star prospects.
Max Hiller: South Carolina Target in Football
In Rivals’ latest update for the class of 2027, big brother Max comes in as the No. 25 overall player nationally. He is ranked the No. 2 interior offensive lineman and the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman is one of the top names on South Carolina’s recruiting board. He has already visited Columbia several times and regularly lists the Gamecocks among his favorite programs. His current top five includes South Carolina, Penn State, Clemson, Alabama, and Tennessee, though schools like Georgia, Ohio State, and Maryland remain in pursuit.
“I feel like I fit in at South Carolina,” Hiller told Rivals.
Gamecocks offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley has made Hiller a priority since offering him in March. Current USC commits, including five-star lineman Darius Gray, have even taken to social media to encourage Hiller to join them.
On the field, Max has already earned Polynesian Bowl All-American honors. He’s known as a dominant run blocker with the potential to become an elite pass protector. Last season, he lined up mostly at right tackle but has since moved to left tackle, while also moonlighting at defensive tackle for Coatesville. Recruiting services remain split on his future position—Rivals and 247Sports list him as an interior lineman, while ESPN projects him as a tackle.
And if that weren’t enough, Max also plays basketball, manning the post for Coatesville and even earning a hoops offer from La Salle.
Colton Hiller: A Basketball Star in the Making
While Max is climbing the football recruiting ranks, younger brother Colton is already making waves in basketball. Rivals’ first rankings for the class of 2028 placed him at No. 3 overall nationally, No. 1 in Pennsylvania, and the top small forward in the country.
Colton’s game has drawn national attention for his length, scoring ability, and versatility. At just 14, he made Team USA’s U16 roster, and he’s since played up for the U17 PSA Cardinals on the summer AAU circuit. National analyst Jamie Shaw even said Colton was in consideration for the No. 1 spot overall.
“I definitely want to play for a coach where how I play fits the coach’s scheme,” Colton told Rivals. “I want to play for a program where I can have the ball in my hands a little bit and have the freedom to get to my spots whenever I want.”
Although South Carolina has yet to extend an offer to Colton—currently the Gamecocks’ only public 2028 offer is to Columbia native Mason Collins—the staff is aware of him. He has also tagged along on Max’s recruiting trips, and it’s not hard to imagine the brothers making a tandem visit to USC if interest picks up.
Looking Ahead
Both Hiller brothers are still in the early stages of their recruitment. Max will spend his junior season anchoring Coatesville’s line while taking visits to his top schools, including South Carolina. He knows exactly what he wants in his next home.
“Development, relationships, being able to get on the field early, and just feeling at home are the big things on my checklist,” Max explained.
Colton, meanwhile, has only visited Penn State so far, but more trips are on the horizon as his national profile continues to rise.
For now, Coatesville, Pennsylvania, is a hotbed of talent—and the Hiller brothers are names every college football and basketball fan should know.
