Pittsburgh Steelers on the HUNT: Scout Spotted Watching Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers”

Steelers Scouting Quarterbacks Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be positioning themselves for a major quarterback move in the 2026 NFL Draft—set to take place in their own city. With growing speculation that the franchise will target a signal-caller in the first round, scouts were busy across the college football landscape this past weekend evaluating top prospects.

According to Alan Saunders of Steelers Now, the team had a presence in Columbia for South Carolina’s season opener against Virginia Tech.

“On Sunday, the Steelers also sent a scout to Columbia, South Carolina, for the matchup between SC and potential first-round pick LaNorris Sellers and Virginia Tech,” Saunders reported.

The scouting efforts didn’t stop there. The Steelers also sent representatives to Columbus, where Arch Manning struggled against Ohio State, and to the LSU-Clemson matchup, where LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik both took the field in a high-profile duel.

Penn State’s Drew Allar is another quarterback expected to remain firmly in the mix. The Nittany Lions’ star was sharp in his opener, completing 22 of 26 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown against Nevada. His first big test will come in Week 5 when Penn State hosts Oregon, a game sure to attract plenty of NFL eyes.

The message from the Steelers is clear: with the draft coming to Pittsburgh, they intend to leave no stone unturned in finding their quarterback of the future.
