“SEC Drops Major Hint About South Carolina’s Kickoff Time at Ole Miss — But There’s a Catch!”

After a tough 26-7 loss to Oklahoma, South Carolina is looking to regroup as it closes out a two-game homestand with a massive homecoming clash against No. 4 Alabama this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on ABC, marking another high-profile test for Shane Beamer’s struggling squad.

The following week, the Gamecocks will hit the road for a challenging SEC matchup at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium against No. 8 Ole Miss, kicking off their November schedule. The SEC announced that the game will air on ESPN or ABC at either 3:30, 7, or 7:30 p.m., with the final kickoff time expected to be confirmed this weekend.

This trip will mark South Carolina’s first visit to Oxford since 2020, and the Gamecocks will be looking for redemption after a lopsided 27-3 loss to the Rebels in Columbia last season. In that matchup, Ole Miss raced to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back, while South Carolina’s only points came from a 40-yard field goal by Alex Herrera.

That game also marked quarterback LaNorris Sellers’ return from injury. He finished 20-for-32 for 162 yards and an interception, adding 55 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Ole Miss (6-1, 3-1 SEC) has been one of the more consistent teams in the country this year, opening the season with six straight wins before falling to Georgia last weekend. The Rebels held a nine-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but Georgia stormed back with two touchdowns and a field goal to hand them their first loss of the season. Before returning home to host South Carolina, Ole Miss will face No. 13 Oklahoma — the same team that just defeated the Gamecocks.

Meanwhile, South Carolina (3-4, 1-4 SEC) finds itself in a desperate spot after dropping four of its last five games. With five games left on the schedule, Beamer’s team must win at least three to reach bowl eligibility — or risk missing the postseason for the second time in three years.

After facing Ole Miss, the Gamecocks will get a much-needed bye week before traveling to College Station to battle No. 3 Texas A&M. They’ll then close out the regular season with home matchups against Coastal Carolina and rival Clemson, hoping to finish strong and salvage what has been a disappointing campaign.
