The SEC has officially announced that South Carolina’s upcoming matchup against Ole Miss will be a primetime showdown under the lights at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Gamecocks (3-5, 1-5 SEC) and Rebels (7-1, 4-1 SEC) are set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, with ESPN broadcasting the game live and streaming available on the ESPN app.
After two consecutive afternoon games, this will mark South Carolina’s sixth night game of the season, adding another late kickoff to their 2025 campaign.
South Carolina enters the contest on a rough stretch, losing three straight and five of their last six games, including a heartbreaking 29-22 loss to Alabama over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Ole Miss is surging with momentum, coming off a major victory over a top-15 Oklahoma team, just one week after the Sooners defeated South Carolina. The Rebels’ only loss this season came on the road at Georgia, and they boast a perfect 5-0 record at home.
Last season’s meeting didn’t go well for the Gamecocks — Ole Miss handed them a 27-3 loss at Williams-Brice Stadium, marking South Carolina’s worst defeat of the year. This time, however, the Gamecocks will look for redemption in Oxford.
Interestingly, South Carolina’s last trip to Mississippi carries a bit of program history. It was during that 59-42 loss that former head coach Will Muschamp coached his final game before being dismissed. That same game is remembered for Lane Kiffin’s iconic clipboard toss, launched 30 feet in the air after a game-sealing touchdown — a moment that lives on in SEC lore.
“We’ll see if history repeats itself — or if South Carolina can rewrite it — under the lights in Oxford.”
