South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson was hospitalized Friday after being involved in a car accident, according to a report from The State’s Jordan Kaye.
Details surrounding the crash remain limited, but Kaye confirmed that Robertson is currently being treated in the trauma ICU at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Head coach Shane Beamer addressed the situation Friday evening in a statement released through South Carolina Athletics.
“Travian Robertson was involved in a car accident this morning. He is currently in the hospital in stable condition,” Beamer said. “We expect him to make a full recovery and be back out on the field soon. Please keep the families of those involved in the accident in your prayers and respect the Robertson family’s privacy during this time.”

Robertson, now in his third season with the Gamecocks, joined the coaching staff on May 1, 2023. A former standout defensive lineman at South Carolina, he played for the program from 2007 to 2011.
The Gamecocks are scheduled to kick off the 2025 season next Sunday in Atlanta against Virginia Tech.
