South Carolina Extends Scholarship Offer to 2027 DB Kenaz Sullivan
While most of the country enjoyed a day off for Labor Day, South Carolina’s coaching staff stayed busy on the recruiting trail. On Monday evening, class of 2027 defensive back Kenaz Sullivan announced via social media that the Gamecocks had officially offered him a scholarship.
Sullivan’s stock has risen quickly in recent months. Nearly 20 Power Conference schools have already offered, with many of those opportunities arriving since the start of spring ball.
A native of Stafford, Virginia, Sullivan adds to South Carolina’s growing pipeline from the DMV area. Located just 40 miles outside Washington, D.C., Stafford has produced several Gamecock targets over the years. Head coach Shane Beamer has made recruiting the DMV a priority, landing double-digit players from the region since his arrival. Most recently, Richmond five-star offensive lineman Darius Gray committed to USC, becoming the third five-star Beamer has pulled from that area.
As a player, Sullivan brings versatility to the secondary. For North Stafford High, he has lined up at both corner (inside and outside) and at safety. Now standing at 6-foot, 180 pounds, he has grown steadily since the start of his sophomore season.
Sullivan’s game is built on speed, coverage instincts, and ball skills. He isn’t afraid to be physical and has shown himself to be a willing tackler when plays come his way. His skill set extends beyond defense, too — Sullivan has experience as a kick returner and coverage unit contributor, which could catch the attention of South Carolina special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.
In the recruiting rankings, Rivals lists Sullivan as the No. 394 overall prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 41 safety nationally, and the No. 8 player in Virginia across all positions.
