South Carolina WBB’s Bree Hall waived before start of WNBA season

Former South Carolina standout Bree Hall has been waived by the Indiana Fever during the 2025 WNBA training camp, the team announced in a social media post on Monday afternoon.

Hall, who was selected as the No. 20 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on April 14, saw limited preseason action. She did not play in the Fever’s 79-74 overtime win over the Washington Mystics on Saturday but logged 16 minutes in Sunday’s matchup against the Brazilian National Team, where she impressed with 9 points and 4 rebounds.

A key figure in one of South Carolina’s most celebrated recruiting classes, Hall was part of a dominant core that included Sania Feagin and Raven Johnson. During her time with the Gamecocks, Hall helped capture two national championships and became known for her elite defense and clutch shooting. She averaged 5.8 points across 147 games at the collegiate level.

Indiana also waived Jillian Alleyne alongside Hall on Monday, marking another round of tough roster cuts as teams finalize lineups ahead of the regular season.

Notably, Hall is the second former Gamecock to be released during training camp in recent days, following Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, who was waived by the Dallas Wings on Saturday.

The WNBA regular season tips off next week, and while Hall’s professional journey hits an early roadblock, her championship experience and grit leave the door open for future opportunities.
