South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart Named to Lombardi Award Midseason Watch List
South Carolina sophomore EDGE rusher Dylan Stewart has earned national recognition midway through the 2025 season. On Tuesday, the Lombardi Award Committee officially named the Gamecock standout to its midseason watch list — a nod reserved for some of college football’s top performers in the trenches.
The Lombardi Award is presented each year to the nation’s top player who lines up on the offensive or defensive line or at linebacker. This year’s midseason watch list features 65 elite players from across the country.
Through the first half of the season, Stewart has posted 27 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and nine tackles for loss, while also forcing two fumbles and delivering several highlight-worthy hits. His disruptive presence has made him one of the most feared defenders in the SEC.
Last season, fellow Gamecock EDGE Kyle Kennard was a finalist for the same award — showing that South Carolina’s defensive line tradition remains strong.
