Top 2026 Prospect McKenna Woliczko Visiting South Carolina, Eyes Gamecocks for Next Step
One of the brightest rising stars in high school basketball is heading to Columbia this week. Five-star wing McKenna Woliczko, ranked No. 6 overall in ESPNW’s Class of 2026 Top 100, is set to take an official visit to Dawn Staley’s South Carolina women’s basketball program from July 1–3, as she confirmed to The State.
South Carolina is firmly in the mix for the 6-foot-2 standout out of Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, California. Woliczko recently narrowed her top four schools to include South Carolina, Iowa, USC, and Ohio State.
In a June interview with On3, Woliczko spoke highly of the Gamecocks and Coach Staley’s proven track record of developing WNBA-caliber talent:

“I love Dawn (Staley) and the rest of the coaching staff,” Woliczko said. “When you’re looking to get to that next level, like the WNBA, South Carolina will help you get there. That’s really cool to think about. They’re recruiting the best of the best, so you get to play with top players in the country. That’s what it’s like in the pros. I think it’d be cool to figure that out at the college level instead of being pushed right into that at the pro level.”
Woliczko had an impressive sophomore season, averaging 22.1 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting a remarkable 64% from the field before her junior year was cut short in January due to an ACL injury.
According to Brandon Clay, 247Sports’ Director of Women’s Basketball Scouting, Woliczko’s game is elite in terms of motor and rebounding:
“Her motor does not stop on either end of the court,” Clay wrote. “Woliczko is one of the best rebounders nationally in her class. She’s an ideal piece for a roster built to win a championship. She brings elite-level energy every time she steps on the floor.”
As the Gamecocks continue to reload with top-tier talent, Woliczko’s visit could be another key step in building the future foundation of South Carolina’s powerhouse program.
