South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley is already gearing up for another title run in the 2025-26 season, but before she hits the hardwood, she’s throwing her full support behind Shane Beamer and the Gamecock football squad.
In a recent SportsCenter interview, Staley didn’t hold back when describing the electric atmosphere at Williams-Brice Stadium, where she says the fan experience is unmatched.
“There is nothing like being at Williams-Brice at a football game,” Staley told ESPN. “There’s nothing like it. We are second to none. We are the No. 1 experience in Williams-Brice Stadium. Any game at any time that we’re in Williams-Brice Stadium, it’s gonna be a party. Everybody walks away enjoying it, no matter the score.”
The SEC Network posted the moment on X (formerly Twitter), capturing her passion with the quote:
“We are second to none. We are the No. 1 experience in Williams-Brice Stadium.”

On the football front, South Carolina opens its 2025 season in a high-stakes matchup in Atlanta against Virginia Tech — a meaningful opponent for the Beamer family. The home opener will follow in Week 2 against South Carolina State, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, streaming on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
The 2025 home schedule features some massive matchups, including visits from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, Coastal Carolina, and archrival Clemson — all set to keep Williams-Brice rocking throughout the season.
