South Carolina football has officially assigned jersey numbers to its incoming 2026 recruiting class, a group that includes 17 high school signees and 25 transfers as the program prepares for spring practice next month.
The Gamecocks’ media staff has updated player profiles on GamecocksOnline, revealing the jersey numbers each newcomer will wear in garnet and black. Most of the incoming players are already on campus and will participate in spring workouts.
According to On3’s Industry Ranking Team Recruiting Rankings, South Carolina’s 2026 high school signing class ranks No. 18 in the country.

Spring Practice on the Horizon
With most newcomers already on campus, South Carolina’s coaching staff will have the opportunity to evaluate the incoming talent during spring practice next month. The combination of highly-ranked high school prospects and experienced transfers positions the Gamecocks for a competitive 2026 season.
The jersey number assignments provide the first tangible sign of the new-look roster that head coach Shane Beamer and his staff have assembled through both traditional recruiting and the transfer portal.
