A Letter From a Gamecock Fan To Dawn Staley and her Girls.

To Coach Dawn Staley and Our South Carolina Gamecocks,

Sunday hurt. There’s no sugarcoating it. Watching Texas take the SEC Tournament Championship stung in a way that only true Gamecock fans understand — because we care that deeply.

But hurt and doubt are two very different things. And there is not a single doubt in our hearts.

Coach Staley, what you have built in Columbia is nothing short of extraordinary. You didn’t just build a program — you built a standard. National Championships, SEC titles, Olympic gold. You have made Gamecocks Nation the proudest fanbase in women’s basketball, and no single loss changes that legacy for even a moment.

To our Raven Johnson — our Floor General, our heartbeat — your toughness and leadership on that court reminds us every game why we bleed garnet and black. To Joyce Edwards, the hometown star playing like she’s been here forever — your fearlessness is breathtaking. To Ta’Niya Latson, electric and relentless. To Tessa Johnson, fighting through pain and still suiting up — that’s Gamecock toughness personified. To Madina Okot and every single player in that locker room — we see your sacrifice, your grind, and your commitment like never before.

You are not just players. You are ours.

And to all the STAFFS, I say you are a Wonderful team Put together by Dawn Staley and South Carolina. God bless you all.

The last time this program lost before March, they came back and cut down the nets. We remember. Coach Staley reminded you of that, and we believe it with everything we have.

So hear us clearly: Win or lose, we ride with you. Forever. Beyond measure.

We are Gamecocks. We don’t flinch. We don’t fold. We rally.

And so we pray — Lord, cover this team with Your grace. Quiet the noise, heal the bodies, and sharpen the minds. Guide their steps through every remaining game and lead them to glory in the NCAA Championship. Not by might, not by power, but by Your spirit.

Bring it home, Gamecocks.

Garnet. Black. Forever.

— A Proud Gamecock Fan, Always
