Gamecocks Gala: South Carolina Women’s Basketball Shines at Team Formal Event

The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team brought their A-game off the court last night, stepping out in style for the team’s annual gala. Six players were spotted posing together for what turned out to be one of the most charming and candid group shots of the evening — full of laughter, personality, and serious fashion moments.

Chloe Kitts turned heads on the far left in a sleek black-and-white color-blocked halter-style gown featuring a high side slit, paired with black strappy heels and her long blonde hair flowing freely. Kitts radiated energy throughout, laughing and holding her phone while still managing to look like she stepped off a runway.

Beside her, Tessa Johnson kept it timeless in a classic black deep V-neck gown with a high slit, her hair swept up into an elegant high bun. Poised and polished, Johnson looked every bit the part of a star player at a formal affair.

Ayla McDowell brought bold confidence third in line, stunning in a black plunging halter-neck dress with a high slit that complemented her bright, curly-haired smile perfectly.

The standout color of the night came courtesy of Alicia Tournebize, who turned up the drama in a one-shoulder ruched dark purple — eggplant — satin gown that hugged her figure beautifully, her long dark hair adding to the striking overall look. She was spotted making small, careful adjustments to her dress and hair mid-pose, proving that perfection takes effort.

Agot Makeer kept things sleek and sophisticated in a black satin gown with a high slit, laughing and smiling throughout — proving that classic never goes out of style.

Rounding out the group on the far right, Maddy McDaniel made perhaps the boldest statement of all — arriving in a casual grey sweatshirt over a white collared shirt, black pants, and sneakers. With her short curly hair and a beaming smile, McDaniel leaned fully into her own vibe, and honestly? It worked.

The group photo itself was anything but stiff. The six teammates laughed, shifted their weight, fixed their hair and dresses, and played around between poses — capturing the kind of genuine team chemistry that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet. It was a behind-the-scenes moment as fun as it was fashionable, and a reminder that this Gamecocks squad brings the same energy everywhere they go.
