Fresh off a 270-yard, three-touchdown performance in South Carolina’s 57-0 win over Kent State, quarterback LaNorris Sellers broke down what changed for the offense in his postgame comments.

On His Comfort Level in the New Offense

Asked how smoothly he operated within Kendal Briles’ scheme, Sellers credited the collective offseason work behind the performance: “It was good. It was fun being out there after working at it all offseason. That’s kudos to everybody on offense: the offensive line, receivers, coaches. We all worked together.”

On What Felt Different

Sellers pointed to the team’s mentality and pace as key factors: “We came out fast. We came out eager. We came out excited to play, ready to play. We were ready to prove what we’ve been doing in the game today.”

On Bouncing Back From a Disappointing 2025

Reflecting on the significance of opening the season with a dominant shutout after last year’s struggles, Sellers kept the focus forward-looking: “It’s just playing to our standard. We talked about it last night. Last year happened; it was whatever it was. We’ve just got to learn from it, move on from it, and play to our standard every week.”

On the Run Game’s Success

Asked why South Carolina’s ground attack clicked so effectively, Sellers pointed to preparation and execution: “We communicated. We executed. We practiced at a high level, and we were prepared for anything.”

On the Offense’s Sustained Dominance

With nine straight touchdown drives following the opening possession — and every quarterback who played leading a scoring drive — Sellers emphasized the depth and unity across the unit: “We stayed in the fight. Everybody was prepared and ready to go. Just a next-man-up mentality. We all were together with the offensive line, all three (quarterbacks) that went out there, all the receivers, all the running backs. It takes all 11 of us, and we know that, and we put on a display.”
