The LSU Tigers women’s basketball program continues to build on its elite SEC legacy under the leadership of head coach Kim Mulkey. While the 2024-25 season saw LSU fall just short of a Final Four appearance—losing to the UCLA Bruins in the Elite Eight—the team still secured notable wins over San Diego State, Florida State, and NC State during its tournament run.
Following the season, Mulkey and her staff got to work retooling the roster, and perhaps the biggest offseason splash came with the arrival of MiLaysia Fulwiley, a high-profile transfer from the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Over the weekend, LSU celebrated Fulwiley‘s latest achievement: becoming a USA Basketball 3×3 National Champion.
“MiLaysia Fulwiley is a USA Basketball 3×3 Champion,” posted the official LSU Tigers women’s basketball social media account on Sunday.
Not only did Fulwiley help lead her team to the title—she earned MVP honors for her standout performance. Competing with Team USA “Chaos”, she shared the court with fellow rising stars Tessa Johnson, Chloe Kitts, Joyce Edwards, and Madison McDaniel.
Fulwiley made the move to LSU after two strong seasons at South Carolina, where she arrived as one of the nation’s most highly ranked high school recruits. She played a key role in guiding the Gamecocks to the national championship game in the 2024-25 season, where they ultimately fell to Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies.
During her sophomore campaign, Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, nearly identical to her freshman year numbers, underscoring her consistent production.
Now with the Tigers, Fulwiley brings championship experience, elite playmaking, and a growing résumé of national accolades—positioning her as a key piece in LSU’s pursuit of another deep tournament run.
