“One More Go Around!” Brady Hunt Set to Run It Back with South Carolina for Another Season”

South Carolina tight end Brady Hunt may have been listed as a redshirt senior this past season, but his time in garnet and black isn’t over just yet.

On Saturday, Hunt hinted at his return with an Instagram post captioned, “One more go around…”, accompanied by several photos from the season. GamecockCentral has since confirmed that the message signals Hunt’s intention to return for another year, and that he has already been granted an additional season of eligibility, according to a source close to the program.

Hunt’s opportunity for an extra year had been on the table ever since he arrived in Columbia through the transfer portal two offseasons ago. The 6-foot-6, 249-pound tight end missed the entire 2023 season due to an ankle injury, preserving eligibility that now allows him to come back for one more run.

Over his two seasons with the Gamecocks, the former Ball State standout appeared in 22 games and made eight starts. He totaled 23 receptions for 190 yards and added two rushing touchdowns, often lining up as the “quarterback” in South Carolina’s short-yardage “tush push” packages.

Hunt’s return brings valuable experience to a tight end group undergoing change. South Carolina will be without Jordan Dingle, who has exhausted his eligibility, and Michael Smith, who plans to enter the transfer portal. Returning players Maurice Brown II and Mike Tyler remain in the room, while Caden Ramsey is set to join the unit from the high school ranks.

With Hunt back in the fold, the Gamecocks gain a seasoned presence and leadership at a position that will look noticeably different heading into next season.
