“Five-Star Phenom Who is Stunned by Dawn Staley’s Awesome Records is Thrilled to Visit South Carolina — Could Dawn Staley Land This Superstar?”

One of the nation’s top young basketball stars is heading to Columbia for a visit with Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Five-star guard Jerzy Robinson, ranked No. 5 overall in ESPN’s Class of 2026 Top 100, is set to take her official visit with South Carolina women’s basketball this weekend, her high school coach confirmed to The State on Tuesday.

The 6-foot senior guard from Sierra Canyon High School (California) is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country. Robinson has drawn interest and scholarship offers from powerhouse programs including LSU, UConn, UCLA, Southern Cal, Iowa, and Notre Dame, according to On3 Sports. She also took an official visit to LSU earlier this month, as seen on her social media.

Recruiting analyst Brandon Clay, the 247Sports director of women’s basketball scouting, praised Robinson’s all-around game, calling her a “rhythm scorer” with a rare blend of “physical size and skillset package” that sets her apart from most high school players.

Robinson’s résumé already includes three international gold medals with Team USA. She helped the U.S. women’s national team claim championships at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, and the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. Across those tournaments, she averaged 15.6 points, seven rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, according to FIBA.

For South Carolina, Robinson’s visit represents another major step in building what could become another elite recruiting class. Head coach Dawn Staley already holds one commitment in the 2026 cycle — Kelsi Andrews, a four-star forward from Florida and the No. 18-ranked recruit in ESPN’s rankings, who committed earlier this month.

With Robinson now on campus, the Gamecocks will look to make a strong impression on one of the top prospects in the nation — and potentially land another cornerstone for Staley’s powerhouse program.
