South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has made a major staff change, parting ways with offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley, sources confirmed to Gamecock Central.
In Teasley’s place, Shawn Elliott, who currently serves as the Gamecocks’ running game coordinator and tight ends coach, will step in as the interim offensive line coach, according to multiple reports from Gamecock Central’s Wes Mitchell and Chris Clark.
An official announcement from the program is expected later today.
Teasley was in his third season leading South Carolina’s offensive line, having taken over the role full-time in January 2023 when he replaced Greg Adkins. Before that, Teasley handled on-field duties for much of the 2022 season, stepping in after Adkins faced a minor health issue that limited his availability.
Teasley first joined Beamer’s staff in 2021 as an offensive analyst, following a successful stint as the offensive line coach at North Carolina Central University, where he helped build one of the top rushing attacks in the MEAC.
The move signals Beamer’s growing urgency to spark improvement in an offensive line group that has struggled with consistency and injuries throughout the season.
