Top Recruits Narrow Lists, Set Timelines in Busy Week for 2026 Prospects
Three elite 2026 women’s basketball prospects made major moves in their recruiting journeys this week, as two players trimmed their lists and another mapped out her commitment timeline.
Edwards Reveals Final Six
Earlier this week, a recruitment update hinted that five-star forward Oliviyah Edwards was unofficially cutting her list of top schools in half. Now, it’s official. Edwards announced her final six programs: South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, Southern Cal, Florida, and Washington.
The highly sought-after prospect has already visited Southern Cal and has scheduled official visits to Tennessee, South Carolina, and LSU. While Florida and her in-state school, Washington, made the cut, visit dates have not yet been finalized.
Ranked No. 2 by ESPN and No. 4 by Rivals, Edwards is an elite-level athlete known for her ability to dunk, shoot, handle the ball, rebound, and defend.
Jacy Abii Cuts to Five
Another top-tier talent, Jacy Abii, a 6-foot-2 wing out of Frisco, Texas, is down to five finalists. On Wednesday, Abii announced her top schools: UCLA, Texas, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and LSU.
Though South Carolina had previously offered Abii, the Gamecocks didn’t appear to be a major contender and have now been eliminated from the running. Back in December, they were included in her top 16.
Abii is currently ranked 10th by ESPN and 12th by Rivals, solidifying her as one of the top wings in the 2026 class.
Woliczko Nearing Decision
Meanwhile, McKenna Woliczko, a versatile 6-foot-2 wing from California, shared new details about both her recruitment and her ongoing recovery from a torn ACL.
Woliczko recently joined her Jason Kidd Select AAU squad on a European tour and took the court for one final symbolic moment. At tipoff, she was positioned under the basket and scored an uncontested layup before immediately subbing out.
“I’m hoping that in the couple of weeks after [my last visit], I’ll be able to talk to my parents, talk to my coaches, kind of see what we’re thinking,” Woliczko told Bay Area media. “Depending on where I commit, there’s different ways I could (announce it).”
She has already visited Ohio State and South Carolina, with her final official visit set for Iowa on the weekend of August 28. After that, she hopes to make a decision in early September.
Currently ranked sixth in the 2026 class by both Rivals and ESPN, Woliczko is considering a final four of South Carolina, Ohio State, Iowa, and Southern Cal. She also recently became the first high school athlete to sign with Disrupt The Game, a sports agency that will represent her going forward.
