“BREAKING: Shane Beamer Gives Hopeful Update on Nyck Harbor After Frightening Hit”

South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons and remained in College Station overnight after a frightening moment late in the game against Texas A&M. On Sunday evening, head coach Shane Beamer confirmed that Harbor has since returned to Columbia and is “doing well.”

The incident occurred when the junior wideout came down hard on the turf after making a crucial 18-yard catch on 4th and 6, a play that kept South Carolina’s hopes alive with only minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. After landing, a defender also came down on top of Harbor’s chest, intensifying the impact.

Harbor was evaluated by trainers for several minutes before he walked off the field on his own.

During his Sunday teleconference, Beamer provided an update on both Harbor and defensive back Brandon Cisse, who also left the game with an undisclosed injury.

Health-wise, the two that we were the most concerned about coming out of yesterday, Nyck Harbor and Brandon Cisse, we’ll see how the week goes on both those guys,” Beamer said. “Nyck did spend the night in College Station. I talked to him last night after we landed back in Columbia and he was in good spirits when I talked to him last night.

Beamer added, “He is back in Columbia now. He spent the night and flew back this morning from College Station and is back in the building right now. Proud of him, and hate that he went through that, but glad he’s back here and glad everything’s okay.

Despite the scary moment, Harbor turned in the best performance of his career. He recorded three receptions for 102 yards, highlighted by an electrifying 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter that helped extend South Carolina’s lead to 27-3.

The status of Brandon Cisse, typically a key contributor in the defensive secondary, remains uncertain after he played only 28 snaps before exiting.

South Carolina will look to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup against Coastal Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on SEC Network.
