EA Sports College Football 27 added 1,972 players to its database Thursday afternoon, and South Carolina picked up 11 of them — a meaningful patch for a launch-day roster that had been missing 31 scholarship players entirely.

Among the newly added Gamecocks are freshman offensive lineman Darius Gray, wide receivers Malik Clark, Jordon Gidron, and Lex Cyrus, cornerbacks Damarcus Leach and Jauqel Holman, edge rusher Jaquavious Dodd, offensive linemen Blake Franks and Anthony Baxter, and linebackers Donovan Darden and Keenan Britt. The addition of Leach and Holman is particularly notable given the roster still lacks nine South Carolina defensive backs, leaving a thin depth chart in the secondary even after this update.

Not everyone made the cut, though. Freshman receiver Sequel Patterson remains absent, and backup quarterback Cutter Woods — the presumed QB2 — is missing from the game for a second straight year, a recurring omission for the title. A few other players who appeared in last year’s edition, like Kobby Sakyi-Prah, didn’t carry over into CFB 27 either.

With the update in place, the roster should now more closely reflect what fans will actually see when South Carolina opens its season against Kent State on September 5. At the top of the ratings, star quarterback LaNorris Sellers headlines the roster at 86 overall, alongside standout edge rusher Dylan Stewart at 93 — the highest-rated player on the team — and cornerback Judge Collier at 86. Elsewhere, top skill talent includes wide receiver Nyck Harbor (86 overall, 99 speed) and left tackle Jacarrius Peak (88 overall), giving South Carolina several players rated among the better options at their respective positions nationally.
