Zaniya Johnson, a four-star center in the 2027 class out of Biloxi, has finalized her official visit schedule, and South Carolina has secured a spot on her calendar, she told Rivals. The 6-foot-4 post player has narrowed her recruitment to five programs: Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.

Her visit tour kicks off first with Florida State on August 28, followed by LSU on September 10 and Texas A&M on September 17. South Carolina lands the fourth slot on October 2, with Johnson closing out her official visits at Mississippi State on October 23 — notably her home-state program, adding a layer of familiarity to her final stop.

South Carolina’s inclusion among her finalists comes after the Gamecocks extended a scholarship offer last summer, positioning them as a program Johnson has been considering for well over a year. As a center prospect, she’d fit into a South Carolina frontcourt picture that’s already loaded with size, joining a roster that features 6-foot-7 Alicia Tournebize and 6-foot-5 Adhel Tac among the tallest groups in the country — meaning any addition at the position would need to prove she can hold her own in a deep, physical room rather than simply fill a need.

Playing for Biloxi High School in Mississippi, Johnson enters her official visit stretch as one of the more sought-after post prospects in the 2027 class, with a five-school list that blends SEC powers (LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Mississippi State) alongside ACC contender Florida State. With her full visit schedule now public, the coming two months will offer a clear runway toward a decision, as each program gets its turn to make a closing case before she wraps up the process in late October.
