“From 6-Year-Old Spectator to Top Recruit: Brady Hull’s Emotional Return to Williams-Brice”

Top 2027 IOL Prospect Brady Hull Returns to Williams-Brice — This Time as a Recruit

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The last time Brady Hull stepped inside Williams-Brice Stadium, he was just six years old tagging along with his sister, Lex Hull, on her recruiting trip to South Carolina in 2014. Nearly 13 years later, the Kentucky native walked through those same gates — but this time, as one of the nation’s rising interior offensive line prospects in the 2027 class.

Hull, a priority target for the Gamecocks, returned to Columbia last week to watch South Carolina take on his home-state team, the Kentucky Wildcats. The moment carried extra weight, not only because it was his first official recruiting visit to Williams-Brice, but also because of the deep ties he has to both programs.

“It was really cool to be back,” Hull said after the game. “The atmosphere is crazy here, and it definitely stood out compared to other places I’ve been. The fans were loud from start to finish, and you can tell how much football means here.”

For Hull, who has been drawing heavy interest from schools across the SEC and beyond, the trip was another step in what is quickly becoming one of the most closely watched recruitments in the 2027 cycle. The Gamecocks’ staff made sure he felt like a priority, giving him the chance to spend time with coaches, connect with players, and soak in the energy of a home SEC game day.

“I really appreciated how the coaches treated me and my family,” Hull added. “It wasn’t just about football. They asked about school, about life back home, and made me feel like I could fit in here.”

South Carolina’s performance in the win over Kentucky also left an impression. Hull noted the physicality of the Gamecocks’ offensive line and the way the staff has emphasized player development — a message that resonates as he continues to evaluate potential future homes.

Recruiting insiders say Hull is expected to make multiple visits throughout his junior and senior years, with both South Carolina and Kentucky likely to remain heavily in the mix. His return to Williams-Brice, however, marked a full-circle moment — from wide-eyed six-year-old on the sidelines to one of the most sought-after linemen in the 2027 class.

“Coming here now as a recruit instead of just a kid in the stands is special,” Hull said with a smile. “It’s something I’ll definitely remember.”
