“Shane Beamer Delivers Crushing News: Gamecocks Star O-Lineman Out for the Season Ahead of Alabama Clash!”

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer delivered tough injury news on Tuesday, confirming that starting right tackle Cason Henry will likely miss the rest of the 2025 season.

I don’t think he’ll return this season,” Beamer said during his weekly media availability. “He’s certainly not playing this Saturday, but everybody else was back out there practicing today.

Beamer did, however, offer some encouraging updates, noting that Dylan Stewart (hip) and several other banged-up players should be available when the Gamecocks take on No. 4 Alabama this Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Henry, one of South Carolina’s most reliable offensive linemen, started every game in 2023 and was expected to anchor the line again this season. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound redshirt junior started the first four games of 2025 before suffering a dislocated shoulder early in the loss to Missouri in late September.

The setback has sidelined Henry ever since, and Beamer expressed his sympathy for the talented lineman, who has battled through multiple injuries during his career.

He’s doing OK,” Beamer said. “That’s one of the leaders on our offensive line. I hate it for him. He’s frustrated — a dislocated shoulder on the very first play of the Missouri game. From Cason’s standpoint, he just wants to get it fixed and be able to be healthy. He hasn’t been able to do that a lot during his time here.

Beamer added that Henry remains in good spirits despite the tough news:
He’s frustrated but in good spirits, and just eager to get well and play.

Henry still has NFL aspirations, and a full recovery could set him up for a strong return in 2026.

The Gamecocks (3–4, 1–3 SEC) will face their toughest test yet when Alabama visits Columbia for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
