WHO IS BROOK DANIELS —Staley Confirms Brooke Quarles Daniels’ Commitment, Praises Her “Skill and Toughness”
South Carolina has officially confirmed Brooke Quarles Daniels as a member of its 2026-27 roster, with Dawn Staley personally announcing the addition of the Macomb, Michigan native. Staley made clear the expectation for immediate impact, saying, “Brooke’s wealth of experience will help us right away, as will her combination of skill and toughness. She is a proven winner and a high-level competitor who will bring immediate value to our team.”
The 5-foot-7 guard spent her last two seasons at Michigan, where her defensive production stood out — she earned Big Ten All-Defensive honors in 2026 after finishing second in the conference with 2.4 steals per game. As a primarily starting senior, her two-year Michigan averages settled at 5.1 points, 1.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, with a strong 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Wolverines made the NCAA Tournament in both of her seasons there, capped by an Elite Eight run in 2026.
Before Michigan, Daniels built her reputation at Oakland, where she earned All-Horizon League Second Team honors in back-to-back seasons. She was Oakland’s first-ever Horizon League Freshman of the Year in 2023, the only freshman that season to make the league’s all-conference team. Her production only grew from there — as a sophomore, she led the Golden Grizzlies in scoring (13.6 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg), and assists (3.0 apg), capping two seasons at Oakland with averages of 12.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
Daniels joins a full incoming class rounding out South Carolina’s roster for 2026-27, which includes freshmen Kelsi Andrews, Oliviyah Edwards, Justine Loubens, Jerzy Robinson, and Kaeli Wynn, along with junior transfer Jordan Lee — giving the Gamecocks a mix of proven experience and top-tier young talent heading into the season.
