Happy 25th Birthday, Queen! From the heart of Gamecock Nation, I want you to know that you are deeply celebrated today and every day.
You may never know the full extent of what you meant to us — to me — during your time in Columbia. But let me try to put it into words.
I remember that night against Tennessee like it was yesterday. The tension, the crowd, the weight of everything riding on that moment. And then you — all 6’7″ of God’s masterpiece from Montes Claros, Brazil — launched that shot. Your very first three-pointer. At the buzzer. And the heavens broke open right there in that arena. That wasn’t just basketball, Kamilla. That was a miracle. God used you — a young woman from Brazil — to deliver something extraordinary to the Gamecocks, and nothing has been the same since. You changed my life that night. You changed our lives.
Since that moment, I have been on my knees praying for you — on and off that court. Praying that every door you walk through swings wide open. Praying that the same God who guided that ball through the net guides every step of your journey with the Chicago Sky and beyond.
So on your birthday, I speak these blessings over you:
