Five-star point guard Jezelle “GG” Banks, the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2027 class, offered fresh insight into where her recruitment currently stands — and South Carolina remains one of just four programs still in serious contention for her commitment.

Banks was careful with her wording when discussing how far along her recruitment has progressed, resisting the idea that she’s fully “narrowed” her options while still confirming a clear group of finalists. “I have, I have, you know, like, I wouldn’t say narrowed down, but, you know, I have, I have made some decisions on my visits,” Banks said. “I have Texas, I have LSU, I have South Carolina, and I have Ohio State right now, and I think that’s probably gonna be it until I make my decision.”

That distinction — declining to label it a formal cut while effectively confirming her visit list is set — suggests Banks is being deliberate about not closing any doors publicly, even as her actual recruiting calendar tells a clearer story. Four official visits, without any indication more will be added, functions practically the same as a top-four list, regardless of how she chooses to frame it.

Banks was direct about what separates Texas, LSU, South Carolina and Ohio State from the rest of her recruitment. “But, yeah, I mean, those are the schools right now that have been, you know, communicating with me the most, you know, been there from the beginning, also schools that I see myself, you know, fitting into… you know that decision.”
