South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers faced the media after the Gamecocks’ 30-14 loss to No. 7 Ole Miss, where he completed 16 of 30 passes for 180 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Despite the tough defeat, Sellers remained composed and focused on what’s ahead.
Q: LaNorris, you missed a few passes tonight. What happened?
Sellers: “Yeah, I just missed them.”
Q: What’s the team’s mindset heading into the bye week, knowing you need to win out to make a bowl game?
Sellers: “Just get back to work, get those three wins, get to a bowl game.”
Q: How are you holding up mentally after a tough stretch?
Sellers: “I’m good. It’s football. Sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don’t.”
Q: It looked like you had some open receivers tonight but couldn’t connect. Was that pressure, or just one of those nights?
Sellers: “I just missed them.”
Q: How do you feel about the offensive line’s performance?
Sellers: “They did good. They’re getting better.”
Q: Is frustration starting to build offensively?
Sellers: “Yeah, I think we all are. We know how good we can be, and we’re just not getting it done. We’ve got to get it done.”
Q: How much pressure are you guys putting on yourselves right now?
Sellers: “I don’t know. I think we’ve just got to do more. We need to play better. We need to all get on the same page. It takes all 11.”
Q: What was the call on the touchdown throw to Nyck Harbor?
Sellers: “(Inaudible) He just ran right by him.”
Even in defeat, Sellers’ responses reflected accountability and resilience. His focus now shifts to recovery during the bye week — and leading the Gamecocks to a potential bowl run with three must-win games ahead.
