Five-Star Guard Ashley MacCalla Sets Official Visit Schedule, South Carolina Date Still Being Finalized
Five-star guard Ashley MacCalla, a 5-foot-11 New York native, has locked in a busy stretch of official visits this fall — and South Carolina remains firmly in the mix as she works to finalize her date with the Gamecocks.
MacCalla’s visit tour is set to begin with Virginia on September 10, followed by Cal on September 18 and LSU on September 24. She’ll then head to Miami on October 23, with visits to both South Carolina and Texas still marked as TBD.
The fact that South Carolina and Texas remain unscheduled — even as five other programs have locked in dates — suggests those visits are still being coordinated, but their inclusion on the list signals real mutual interest between MacCalla and both programs.
MacCalla enters her recruitment with significant momentum. As previously reported, she had a standout summer that pushed her nearly 10 spots up the national rankings, which helped earn her an offer from South Carolina. With Dawn Staley’s program continuing to build out a stacked 2027 recruiting class already featuring names like Kaylor Buse, Jezelle “GG” Banks, Jordyn Palmer, Zaniya Johnson, and Taylor Brown, adding a talent of MacCalla’s caliber would further reinforce an already loaded backcourt-and-wing pipeline for the Gamecocks.
With five of her six official visits now dated and South Carolina’s trip still pending confirmation, her recruitment is expected to come into sharper focus as the fall progresses.
